Anatomy in the Flow

Saturday & Sunday, March 23-24, 10:30am-4pm

in person at Living Water Community Center

Have you ever wondered why some yoga classes feel SOOOOOO good and others leave you confused or wanting more?

Are you a student who is ready to deepen your understanding of how your body actually moves?

Are you a teacher who wants to create sequences that truly make sense anatomically as well as energetically?

Do you want to know how to practice Yoga in a way that actually prevents injury and builds strength?

If you answered YES to any or all of these questions - or if you’re just a big ol’ anatomy nerd and you own it - then this workshop is for you!

Join Amanda Myers, 500hr CYT and Yoga Anatomy Teacher for the Maha Vira Yoga Teacher Training, for an immersive weekend of all things Yoga anatomy - and take your practice, as well as your teaching skills, to the next level.

Both days will begin with an invigorating asana practice followed by space for questions and a short lunch break. We will then explore aspects of Yoga anatomy such as planes of movement, joint and muscle actions, principles of movement, how to build a complete anatomically-based sequence, how to offer alignment and refinement cues, and so much more!

Yoga mats and props will be provided, but feel free to bring your own, as well as something to take notes with. We will have access to a full kitchen if you would like to bring your own lunch and there are also several options close by to grab something quick.

Investment is $150 for the full weekend and is eligible for 10 continuing education credits through Yoga Alliance.

This offering is intended to be both equitable and accessible, so if you need assistance with the cost, simply send an email to mahavirarva@gmail.com and we’ll work it out

Amanda has worked in the health & wellness industry for almost 10 years. A Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Personal Trainer and Health Coach, and 500-hour Certified Yoga Teacher, her knowledge of the body is extensive, to say the least. Currently, Amanda works as a licensed EMT with the City of Richmond and is working towards becoming a fire fighter. Even though she is taking a break from massage and coaching, her passion for educating the yoga community on applicable anatomy, promoting a balanced, healthy lifestyle, and encouraging people to find the power within themselves to reach higher and go deeper than they ever thought possible keeps bringing her back to the mat. We are honored to share in her presence and learn from her whenever we can!
