Yoga is a Peace Practice

with J Miles and Laney Sullivan

tuesday, december 9, 6:00-7:30pm

Living Water Community Center - in the community room/sanctuary

Join Yogi J Miles and Høly River’s Laney Sullivan for a special night of community, mindful movement, sound healing and song! J Miles will lead us in a meditation and movement practice, while Laney lends her amazing voice to uplift the experience. This class is designed to bring us closer together in the name of UNITY and PEACE, and to raise money for two great causes.

Maha Vira Yoga and the Fonticello Food Forest have collaborated for the past two years to offer FREE yoga for everyone, as a way to help us more deeply embody our connection to each other and the Earth.

It is an honor to offer this class to ALL - no matter how much or how little you are able to give.

Fonticello Food Forest is a community garden located in Richmond, Virginia within in the city’s southside. It contains a community garden and orchard, and offers a free farm stand each Wednesday to help offset food insecurity within the surrounding neighborhoods. They also maintain a Free Food Fridge that allows anyone in the area to have access to food.

The Maha Vira Yoga Mindfulness and Leadership Training was founded as a way to give prospective yoga teachers not only the tools to offer a safe and effective yoga practice, but also understanding on how to use these tools and practices to uplift the community. One of the core principles of this training to is make it accessible for anyone who is willing to dedicate their time, even if financial contribution might otherwise be a barrier.

All funds raised will go to benefit the continued efforts of Fonticello Food Forest and to fund the Maha Vira Yoga Mindfulness and Leadership Training scholarship fund for those needing support.
