ACTIVE PEACE :: LIVING YOUR PRACTICE ON PURPOSE

Wednesday, June 15, 6PM-8:30PM EST

- Live on Zoom with Reggie Hubbard -

Far too often in the modern yoga aesthetic, we hear about the practice of yoga purely in the context of the physical practice rather than the embodied 8 limbed path designed to achieve physical and spiritual alignment in service to our collective well-being. I mean, why do all this work on self-improvement just to keep it to yourself?

By connecting to your authentic self through consistent practice (sadhana), you develop an intimacy with yoga philosophy that can transform your mindset, your practice and for that matter, your life. In this workshop Reggie will lead a discourse about how we can view our practice from a context of service - serving your needs, those of your community and those of whatever students you attract or sangha you build.

Reggie will use story, asana, sound meditation and guided meditation to create conditions for a multi-sensory practice experience. This practice is designed to leave you curious, inspired and with a deeper awareness of how to access and live with peace and well-being as a foundation, rather than an afterthought.

Workshop takes place on Zoom - link will be sent upon booking.

Meet Reggie (he/him)

Reggie is a certified yoga and meditation teacher and the founder/chief serving officer of Active Peace Yoga where he offers asana and meditation classes to help others nurture peace of mind, creativity, equanimity in spirit and physical health - helping people nurture well-being as foundational, rather than an afterthought. His own yoga and meditation practice have served as a sanctuary of peace and perspective while navigating the stresses of being a black man in the world and serving in pressure filled jobs at the height of politics. He began practicing yoga under extreme emotional distress at work and now freely shares his peace and practice to all walks of life.

As part of his studies, Reggie has authored a thesis entitled, "Yoga and Spiritual Activism:  Serving Humanity from a Sense of Devotion and Love” and has also been a featured speaker on new consciousness, racial justice and civic engagement for leading wellness publications, podcasts and platforms including Mind and Life Institute, CTZNWell, Wanderlust, the Be Here Now Network, the Hanuman Academy, Yoga Alliance, Upaya Zen Center, among others.

In addition to his yoga teaching practice, Reggie has held many senior strategic and logistical roles across a variety of fields, ranging from global marketing, digital and community organizing, government relations, international education to Presidential campaigning.

Reggie's life work sits at the intersection of bringing more peace and balance to activists, guiding the wellness community toward being more engaged, and enhancing the well-being of all walks of life. Achieving this balance is how we catalyze transformative change in our society, which we are desperately in need of at this moment.
