The Bhagavad Gita Today

friday & saturday, april 17-18

in person at Living Water Community Center with Ben Kalra

Join Ben Kalra for a playful exploration through the Bhagavad Gita and how it applies deeply to our lives today. Ben will weave themes from the Bhagavad Gita through physical movement and dharma talk as well as collaborative and contemplative practices. Join for a single session or dive in for the whole experience!

Friday 6-7:30pm Open Flow

An extended practice to include dynamic asana, pranayama, meditation, and a dharma talk. The purpose of physical practice is to guide us toward stillness; we'll calmly build the energy up by igniting breath and movement, before winding back down and turning inward.

Friday evening is open to the community and offered by donation (suggested $10-$25).

Pre-registration is strongly encouraged.

In order to keep this offering both equitable and accessible, please use the code that works for you:

Saturday 10am-12pm Masterclass

A workshop-style practice focused on developing strength, fluency, capacity, and stability. We'll take a new approach to familiar postures, practice hands-on adjustments, break down movement patterns, and plant seeds for future practices.

Saturday’s offerings are intimately interwoven and participation for the full day is highly recommend, but feel free to join for just the morning or afternoon session depending on what you schedule allows.

In order to keep this offering both equitable and accessible, feel free to use the code GITA when registering to reduce the rate of exchange. Please only use this code if you truly need it.

Saturday 1-4pm Workshop

A deep dive into the philosophy, history, and modern context of the Bhagavad Gita. What is the role of spiritual practice in a chaotic and often violent world? Should we keep it peaceful or fight against injustice? Should we seek to take action or yield to inaction? We'll explore themes like these through lecture, discussion, and journal prompts.

Saturday’s offerings are intimately interwoven and participation for the full day is highly recommend, but feel free to join for just the morning or afternoon session depending on what you schedule allows.
