Join Melissa as explore what elements are necessary to create and hold brave space in deep self-exploration and transformation - for ourselves and our students - through 3 Key Focuses:

Sankalpa :: Iccha Shakti

Explore/define our heart’s deepest desire; the foundation for our purpose and practice in life. A clear Sankalpa activates the divine creative energies that support our dreams coming forth into the world.

Sadhana :: Jnana Shakti

Sadhana is the spiritual discipline that requires commitment, regularity and humble devotion. Dedication to our daily yoga practices get us out of our heads and into our hearts, reminding us of our innate wholeness.

Embodiment :: Kriya Shakti

We step forward with the tools of yoga (asana, pranayama, mantra, etc.) and our embodied wisdom as practitioners into the role of teacher to share in our wholeness and the full embrace of our soul’s journey.

This workshop is intended for current and aspiring teachers as well as those who feel called to be of service in their community.

Workshop takes place on Zoom - link will be sent upon booking.

Meet Melissa (she/her)

As a lover of music and movement, and a trained dancer, Melissa attended her first yoga class over 15 years ago and immediately felt a sense of having come “home”. She completed her first 200 hr. RYT Training in 2007, with a traditional focus on Ashtanga and Iyengar in Richmond, Virginia. Today, Melissa is a dedicated yoga practitioner and certified 500 hr. RYT that has trained internationally. She is committed to personal transformation through heart-centered connection, embodied wisdom, shadow work and devotional practices. Her current teachers and mentors include Sianna Sherman and Greta Hill of Rasa Yoga Collective and Jonathan Miles of Maha Vira Yoga. She is passionate about social justice and empowering BIPOC communities, especially in places of wellness in which they are under-represented. Melissa’s teachings combine mantra, mudra, pranayama, and devotional practices to inspire deep inner connection and the compassionate embrace of self as a means to liberation and transformation. When off the mat, Melissa enjoys being a new mom to her son Maceo and spending time outdoors and with her husband, Matt, family, friends and her beloved pup, Puma!
